Yotto has become one of the star’s of the dance music scene with his wonderful blend of music. His tracks have been championed by many with DJs such as Pete Tong giving their full support. With all of his achievements to date, Yotto has just added another by releasing his very first Essential Mix for BBC Radio One.

The mix is a wonderful journey, and within was a number of unreleased Yotto tracks which we could look forward to. A number of those have arrived, with two in the form of the ‘Chemicals‘ EP which is the follow up release to the ‘Marisa’ EP. Both have been released on the label Green which is headed up by the mighty Joris Voorn. And this EP is certainly impressive, just as impressive as his debut Essential Mix.

The first track on the ‘Chemicals‘ EP is the title track which was premiered on Pete Tong’s show. This is a soothing track which encapsulates the Yotto sound. It takes you on a journey with the melodies and the synth sounds which flow through the track, propped up by a stunning bass line. The mixture of these elements will have you in awe at the work of Yotto. It just seems to be the way this track builds, and drops away, before building once more.

Second on the EP is ‘Second Life‘ and once again, this is a track which will make you fall for the sound of Yotto. This is another track which takes you on a journey with many different intricate sounds and layers. The deep flowing bass line anchors the track, while the melodies bring a certain level of energy to the track. It is very infectious as the track progresses, adding different edges and brings different atmospheres together. A superb production, the ‘Chemicals’ EP is once again another impressive piece of work from Yotto.
