Lane 8 is probably one of my favourite artists on the current scene. He simply produces great music, has set up a brand new label to showcase this and launched a brand new set of shows which allows no phones to be used. This Never Happened is what its been called and a whole new tour is on the way.

Back in June, Lane 8 launched his new concept, This Never Happened. The basis of the night was to provide fans with the ultimate experience, but to keep it under wraps and allow no videos, photos or anything else of the show. Privacy. Alongside this, he launched the This Never Happened label and new music has already arrived on it. With the announcement of an Autumn North American tour, two new tracks have surfaced in the form of ‘Divina’ and ‘Crush’ and they are absolutely banging, Lane 8 is on form.

The first of these comes with ‘Divina‘ and out of the two, this is probably my most favourite. An electronic progressive monster, this simply has the style of Eric Prydz written all over it. The deep growling bass line flows through with the synths layered in over the top providing the energy and the addiction for the fans and listeners. A sense of groove is also included and the way in which this track seems to flow is just absolutely immense. I can’t get enough of the rolling nature of ‘Divina’.

Following on from this is ‘Crush‘ and it goes for the deeper atmosphere, the deeper sounding bass line and the deeper synths, before they come to the forefront with some catchy melodies. Again this one progresses and continues to climb higher and higher, before dropping down and dispersing the energy. Lane 8 has entered the studio with a clear tendency in his head about what he wants, and he has delivered it. A perfect way to launch a tour.
