Five Artists To Watch At AVA Festival 2018

AVA Festival 2018 is only around the corner so here are the Five Artists To Watch out for.

| by | Features, News

On Friday 1st June and Saturday 2nd June, AVA Festival 2018 will take place for its fourth instalment. This year will see the festival expand out into their new area at S13 Warehouse in Belfast, and with that expanding out across four different stages. The festival will be showcasing the best in international names alongside homegrown local talent, allowing both to perform alongside each other in the world of electronic music.

With the festival coming up, we decided to pinpoint Five Artists to Watch if you happen to be attending AVA Festival 2018. The official line up is great so apologies to any of those who haven’t made the list, but it is certain to say that there are many talented artists on offer.

DJ Deece

The Dublin based DJ has had a phenomenal couple of years with huge shows across the isle of Ireland. Bringing his huge Disco sounds to the table, he has been rocking festivals and shows to sell out crowds. Last year saw him perform at the Boiler Room stage at AVA Festival where he delivered major tracks like Krystal Klear’s ‘Neutron Dance’ and Retro Grade’s ‘Moda’. All of this during the afternoon left the crowd going wild.

This year he will be performing at the Smirnoff Stage on Saturday between 21:30 and 23:00.

Bicep

It would be a little silly not to include this duo in the Five Artists to Watch list. Bicep have again been another act which have had a phenomenal few years. Since they last performed last year, the duo have released their self-titled album ‘Bicep’ which has become one of the most successful and sought after albums since it was released. Adding to this, they have had a major touring linked in with their album and the response has been great to see them. This year they will also be taking part in the AVA Festival 2018 conference, hosting the opening keynote around the production of their album.

You can catch Bicep on the main Warehouse stage 23:30 – 01:00 on Saturday night. If you are attending the conference, their opening keynote takes place at 10:00 on Friday morning.

Saoirse

This is an artist who never fails to deliver. Saoirse has become a stand out figure within the electronic music industry due to her particular track selections and the energy which she brings to the table. She performed at AVA Festival last year during the Boiler Room and was another artist to have the room pumping through the afternoon. Saoirse has also been highly involved with the conference side of the event. She is for sure one of the Five Artists to Watch at AVA Festival 2018.

This year Saoirse will perform on the main stage on Saturday from 17:00 – 18:00.

Mella Dee / Mall Grab / Denis Sulta

Okay so we may have cheated with this one and named three, but that is only because at their most recent show at Lost  & Found Festival in Malta, they performed a back to back to back. All three are playing at AVA Festival 2018 and each of them should probably deserve a spot on the Five Artists to Watch list. Mella Dee has become a stand out name this year due to his huge ‘Techno Disco Tool’ track which has taken the scene by storm. Mall Grab also been building a solid reputation within the dance music industry due to his infectious sounds, such as ‘Feel Good House’. And Denis Sulta, well he doesn’t need much of an introduction does he?

Denis Sulta will be performing on Friday night at the main stage from 22:00 – 23:30, while Mall Grab and Mella Dee perform the main stage on Saturday.

Jayda G

Vancouver based artist Jayda G has had a short, but very hectic career to date. Situating herself within the Disco and Electronic sounds, this is an artist who will take you on a journey. Her track selection within mixes is absolutely outstanding, and most recently, she has the mighty Panorama Bar in Berghain, as well as performing at the likes of Dekmantel and Gottwood amongst a few. This will be her debut performance at AVA Festival so we are expecting something special from her.

You can catch Jayda G performing on Saturday at the Smirnoff Stage from 22:30 – 00:00.
