Disclosure announced at the start of 2017 that they would be taking a break from the dance music scene after seven highly successful, yet long years. The duo had released some superb tracks as well as their albums ‘Settle’ and ‘Caracal’. And the news of their hiatus took the scene by shock, especially following their highly successful ‘Wild Life Festival’ and tour.
Now we can all breathe a sigh of relief after the duo delivered us a brand new track. ‘Ultimatum‘ is the first release since the ‘Moog For Love‘ EP and is the first real announcement from the guys after their hiatus. They released a small statement which you can read part of below.
Sorry it’s been a while this time.. We have been missing you all immensely, so we wanted to share something we’ve been working on with you now the sun is shining and the trees are green! – Guy and Howard (Disclosure)
‘Ultimatum’ features vocals from Fatoumata Diawara, and it was these vocals which inspired the duo to release this track. Digging around in her discography, they discovered a sample which ultimately became ‘Ultimatum’. This is the kind of sound which we would expect to hear from Disclosure, a nice solid vibe with real chilled out sounds. The deep synth sounds pair off perfectly with the vocals of Fatoumata as does the soothing bass line. This is definitely the perfect track for the Summer months. What is also exciting is that this could potentially be the sound for their upcoming third album, which we await more news for.
