Martin Garrix returns as Area 21 with an new release ‘Girls’ and it’s been dropped as a free download.
Martin Garrix has pretty much being doing what he wants to do over the last few months after he split with Spinnin’ Records and their management teams, and since then, Martin has been going for a new creative drive which has saw him release a number of new tracks, as well as forming his new alias Area 21.
Area 21 was first heard with the track ‘Spaceships’ which was a stand out in some of his sets and ended up getting a release on Martin Garrix’s label STMPD Records so the connection for many had already been made, especially when the track had only been played by him. Area 21 has since arrived back on the scene with the new track ‘Girls’ and this is yet another different styled track to what we usually would associate with the Martin Garrix brand, and it’s sounding rather well.
‘Girls’ has the typical styled melody which stands out in the track especially in the builds and that huge drop which kicks in so well, with the synths taking over the track. The fusion between the melodies, the mega bass line which dominates the track and the vocals which also feature in the track is fantastic, and works so well. When it breaks down and the guitar chords kick in and slow the track right down, it shows the contrasting nature between Garrix and his sounds, before it builds and drops in once more with the soothing synths. This is a big one and is already going down a treat, but it’s nice to see Martin Garrix break away from his typical Progressive House tracks to try something different. More is likely to follow.
