Zhu teases a brand new single ahead of the release of their album as ‘Generationwhy’ lands.
Zhu really made his (or is it their?) mark on the scene with the ‘Genesis Series’ EP range, delivering six exciting tracks to the electronic music industry, teaming up with the likes of Skrillex, AlunaGeorge, Bones Thugs & Harmony, A-Trak and many others, so the news that they have a new album on the way is rather brilliant indeed.
This news came when they delivered the first single from the yet to be titled album on Zane Lowe’s Beats One show, providing listeners and the mysterious producers/groups fan base with ‘Generationwhy’. In the newsletter send out to fans, the album announcement was given a date for fans to look forward to, with the 29th of July this year set to be the release date, well we hope so anyway. With ‘Generationwhy’, it’s pretty much everything we expected from the producer and the group (we’re saying group because in recent photos it’s been teased as three individuals, it’s hard to keep up guys).
They have developed a unique style of electronic music since ‘Faded’ turned out to be a hit single, and ‘Generationwhy’ is the newest single to reek of this style which Zhu brings forth, as the soothing vocal style which is one of the big elements features once more, providing that chilled atmosphere and feeling to the track. This is paired off with the cool drum samples that have been used, not to mention the layers of synths and melodies which have been brought through the track, before the immense guitar chords kick in at the backdrop of the track, it all comes together and provides something so beautiful. Zhu is gearing up for something special and at the moment, this album cannot come quick enough. Expect a range of big name producers and collaborators on the album as well.
