Tom Ferry steps up to deliver ten tracks for The Playlist.

The UK is certainly producing some of the finest talents within the dance music industry. Many are coming through the House scene with bass, future and other genres taking their influence. One of those is Tom Ferry. Hailing from Liverpool, the artist has recently released his new track ‘Forbidden Love’ on Get Twisted Records as well as collaboration with none other than Mike Mago. And as mentioned, he is one of the talents who is sure to make a reputation for himself in the coming months. Tom Ferry takes over The Playlist with his top ten tracks, and they are huge.

Just Kiddin – More to Life

This has everything I like squeezed into one track. It’s hard not to love the jazzy chords and sweet vocal hook.

Lauv – I Like Me Better (TRU Concept Remix)

Straight from the opening it draws you in. It’s a great track to listen to at home and also goes off to a crowd.

Le Youth – Me Without You

It’s a little different to Le Youth’s normal stuff, but it really captures a lot of elements and emotions I look for in music.

MK – 17

I heard a sample of it on Marc’s Instagram months ago and since then, have been checking back every week to see if he had released it yet. It was worth the wait I think!

CamelPhat & Elderbrook – Cola

It’s important to remember that less is more when it comes to producing. I usually overdo it with a million layers because I love big warm synths and wide pianos. But ‘Cola’ is a testimony to the fact that a solid foundation is all you need. It’s a very simple track but has just won a DJ Award in Ibiza for track of the season, which it obviously deserves.

3LAU – On My Mind

Great bassline hook. Nice pads. Soft, catchy vocal. Instant winner with me.

Duke Dumont x Gorgon City – Real Life

The Gorgon City guys have been a constant inspiration since I started making house music. Real Life is another simple track that just hits all the right spots. It’s been hammered on the radio but I’m still not tired of it somehow

Don Diablo – Save A Little Love

I’m a sucker for uplifting, cheesy tracks I’ve been a fan of Don Diablo’s sound for a long time. It’s cheesy and commercial but always retains a level of reality and depth to his tracks and don’t all just sound like he’s pumping out money-makers.

NVOY – Thinkin Bout U

I was addicted to NVOY’s sound from the first track I heard. Judging from James’s social media posts, he is getting good work producing music for a living now. Thinkin Bout U may be the last NVOY track. It’s a perfect track to go out on though, and leaves a perfect legacy of great music.

Truth x Lies – City Lights

The Truth x Lies guys are super talented and I was super happy to have them on the remix of my single ‘By My Side’. ‘City Lights’ was their first single and is still one of their best. It has a great atmosphere and just sounds right.
