The Playlist: Peking Duk

Peking Duk take over The Playlist with a number of classic and current tracks.

| by | Features

Australian duo Peking Duk have been one of the stand out duos on the scene over the last few years. Having collaborated with the likes of Laidback Luke amongst many others, and worked with some major labels, their music has become renowned on the scene. So what better way to introduce you to both Adam and Reuben is for them to take over The Playlist. Both have delivered their top five tracks each following the release of their huge new track ‘Fake Magic’ with AlunaGeorge. Take it away boys!

Adam

Francis & The Lights – May I Have This Dance

I haven’t heard a song that makes me feel this way in a very long time. Pure joy and happiness delivered in a beautiful nostalgic way.

Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes – Don’t Leave Me This Way (Dimitri From Paris Edit)

This is a go to for any kick on or after party. Nothing but good vibes. We saw Mr Scruff play this at KOKO in London and it was one of the most euphoric moments we’ve felt on a dancefloor.

Brodinski – Nobody Rules The Streets (Ft. Louisahhh!)

A classic banger. If you don’t move like crazy when the beat knocks you have no soul.

Chilly Gonzales – I Am Europe (Djedjotronic Remix)

This is another go to for any after party//kick on. As soon as the kick comes in it gets that 2 step going immediately.

Fake Blood – Mars

One of the greatest dance records ever. Miss these fidget house days.

Reuben

RealMind – Malta (Billboard Remix)

Just a simple, dope instrumental electronic track. Very much the on-trend sound of now but still has it’s unique flair in a cool kind of way. The acoustic guitar breakdown feels beautiful, listen to this one with your eyes closed.

M83 – Walkway Blues

One of my fav songs from the semi-recent M83 album, Junk. Classic french electronic styles alongside beautiful songwriting. Pure bliss.

SOPHIE – Just Like We Never Said Goodbye

This song makes you feel some type of way. Naughties synths, so not quite retro but still nostalgic… Reminds me of T2 – Heartbroken, but there is no kick drum. You think the whole song there is gonna be a drop at some point, but the drop never comes, this song is magic.

Mr Oizo – Ok Then

This song is more or less just the intro to his recent album All Wet. Every song is amazing but I feel this one sums it up best. Oizo is a genius and damn it feels good to have more of his music in our lives.

Leon Else – Dance (Oliver Remix)

Just a classic Oliver piece of magic. They bring the bangin disco feel better than anyone. This remix is nothing to complex or invasive, just a beautiful one to sit back on and appreciate.
