Riva Starr brings his iconic underground sounds to the scene once more with the two track 'Naples Play Bass' EP.

Riva Starr made it into the mainstream knowledge with his major collaboration with Fatboy Slim, as they teamed up to release ‘Eat Sleep Rave Repeat’ but the artist has always been situated within the underground scene, and he showcases this sound and quality once more with the two track ‘Naples Play Bass‘ EP.

Sometimes the underground artists like to venture over into the more mainstream side of the dance music scene, and vice-versa, but Riva Starr went all out with his collaboration. All be it though, he never forgot about his roots or his true sound and over the time he has fine-tuned the House music style which he produces to a level of perfection. This is showcased once more with his new two track EP ‘Naples Play Bass’, which lands on Snatch Records, and it’s a quality piece of work from the artist once more.

The first track to arrive from the ‘Naples Play Bass’ EP is the track ‘Hagakure‘ and you immediately get the feeling that this one is going to the upbeat groover which the crowds will fall for. An infectious melody running through the track alongside that deep, growling bass line which holds a lot of the energy for the track, this pairing is deadly. The venomous bite however hits after the track takes a little bit of breather, with the synths providing that trippy atmosphere, and the bit comes in when it drops once more with that infectious bass line and melody pairing off once more. This is a big one.

The second track on the EP comes in as ‘Nite Like This‘ which features vocals from Romanthony and this one is more underground orientated, with the Tech House feeling coming off this one a little more. The bass line is deep, the vocals have that soulful and rather powerful feeling to them, while the melodies are also catchy. It has that Riva Starr House feeling to it and the energy in this one is as solid as the first, especially when the track breaks with just the bass line and drums flowing through the track. Once again, a solid anthem from Riva Starr. The ‘Naples Play Bass’ EP is one to watch.
