Brett Gould has been a name who has been building a real reputation for himself within the underground dance music scene. With releases on labels such as Sola Records, Snatch Records and others, his music has been connecting with fans and picked up by fellow artists. So to gain an insight into his musical realm, Brett Gould takes over The Playlist with a number of tracks from himself, as well as some very talented DJs and this is sure to put you in the mood for the weekend. Take it away Brett.

Riva Starr – Wickedest Sound

This is on Brock Wild, Snatch Records’ sub label. It’s the first release and still the best for me. It smashes the dancefloor every time. I played it at my new residency in Leeds last week and it absolutely did the job again!

Brett Gould – House Music Is

This record did so amazing for me. Huge support from Pete Tong and Jamie Jones. It stayed in the Beatport Top 100 for over 4 months and was the 9th best-selling tech-house track of 2016 – it still bangs now.

Prok N Fitch – Why

These guys have put out some amazing music in their careers but this is really cool. The vocal is a great hook. It’s the one track you have in your head as you leave the club.

Brett Gould – Get Down

Amazing story to be contacted by Idris Elba and make this track for his label.. I’m so excited for it. I finished it in December and have played it in every set since around the world or in the UK. It’s a great feel-good tune that really lifts the atmosphere!

Leftwing & Kody – Snap Back

What an E.P. this is. I’m big fans on Leftwing & Kody. Have been for many years since they were releasing under their own first names on labels like Whartone & Maquinna. This is groovy as you like!

Will Easton – Technic

I heard the Solardo lads play this at their sessions in Brighton and it tore the roof off. A track that has created so many memories already. So happy when it landed in the promo in-box yesterday!

Cera Alba – Taking Over Me (Tiger Stripes Remix)

This has the dirtiest gritty bassline and pounds the dancefloor every time. It’s dark, spooky, atmospheric and uplifting an absolute belter. I played it in Leeds a few weeks back and in France a few months ago.. It’s filthy.

Solardo – Keep Pushing On

Most tracks in tech-house don’t have vocals. If you have a vocal on it, then it’s a winner. This is an absolute floor filler every time. Best thing the Solardo guys have done in my opinion.

Darius Sysrossian – Fugazi Land (Brett Gould Remix)

I’m so proud of this. Darius is one of the best DJs in the world, so to remix his groove is a dream. In fact I pretty much kept his groove, changed a tiny bit of percussion then did my thing with the rest of the track. This is perfect as it sits in-between house and tech-house so it connects genres.

Re:You & Floyd Lavine – Humanity (Steve Lawler Remix)

This is going back to Steve’s sound from 10 years back when he was spinning with Danny Tenaglia a lot. I can listen to tribal house all day. I love African influenced drums. Can’t wait to spin it at the right place and right time.
