Highly Sedated release their highly anticipated debut album on Size Records.

Size Records took a major turn in the music which they were releasing a few years ago. They focused more on the electronic nature and this saw Steve Angello take a new direction with his album ‘Wild Youth’, as well as the likes of Highly Sedated come to the forefront. Now the five piece Swedish electronic group have delivered their debut album on the label.

One and a half years it took to culminate twelve stunning tracks for their new album ‘All We Have Is Now‘. The way in which the group have entered the studio with this new album is just brilliant. They have injected soul, passion, energy and emotion within each of the tracks, bringing together each of the elements of their band, and created something extraordinarily beautiful. Highly Sedated have deeply impressed with all twelve tracks.

The first track to arrive on ‘All We Have Is Now’ is ‘Wasted Youth‘, a five minute track which sets the tone for the album. Bringing together strings, a deep bass line, the synth work and the vocals, it’s magical combination. Each of the elements work beautifully to create the deep and emotional atmosphere which surrounds the tracks, which oozes energy and an infectious nature. A sweet track to kick start the album. ‘Go Insane‘ follows on from this and it’s a little different, though you still have each of your elements, with the vocals, piano melodies, deep bass line, it all just seems to flow so well and fuse wonderfully.

Got Some Water‘ is one of my favourite tracks on the ‘All We Have Is Now’ album. It gives off that Acid like sound through the synth work which rivets through the track. The way in which this track builds up, it creates a serious amount of energy and tension, with sketchy elements in the drop and the huge atmosphere which is created in the breakdown. Solid work from Highly Sedated for this one. ‘Slip Away’ is another personal favourite with a driving bass line, sweet vocals which layer into the backdrop, and a serious amount of high paced energy.

Other stand out tracks on the album include the journeyful ‘Make Love‘ which takes you on a road deep into the layers of the track, as does the single ‘Smoke Rings‘, another track which you could very easily lose yourself within. And finally, another track which really stands out is ‘Highly Sedated‘, a track which is named after the band itself. All you have to do is listen to this one. The band have impressed with this album, they are surely on a road to the top.
