Gary Richards Departs Live Nation; Stops Involvement With Hard Events

The founder of Hard Events will no longer be associated with the brand.

For many of you, you will know the major events network Hard Events which has been operating for the last ten years in the United States. Hard Summer, Holy Ship amongst many other events was all brought to the fold but one man. Gary Richards has been head honcho of the brand, however the artist has released a statement to say he will no longer be a part of the fold.

Gary Richards has announced he will no longer be a part of Live Nation and will no longer be a part of the Hard Events. What is most notable is that Gary is known to perform as Destructo, a key part of the Holy Ship cruise, with Gary curating the line up for each Holy Ship. This is now no longer the case and he looks to make a big impact for the 10th anniversary show of Hard.

To all the HARDfam & Shipfam :

I am leaving Live Nation after this week’s Hard event to pursue an incredible new opportunity that I will share with everyone in the weeks to come. Accordingly, I will not be attending or curating the next Holy Ship cruise event in 2018. I have the utmost respect for Michael Rapino and Live Nation. Let’s make this week’s 10th anniversary show the best HARD event ever!

Gary Richards AKA Destructo

Many artists and those on the scene have reacted to the news. Dirtybird have announced that they will not be partaking at Holy Ship, nor will the likes of Boys Noize, Skrillex, the OWSLA camp and many others which have become key members of the Holy Ship cruise. So what happens next is something we are rather unsure about. But Gary Richards has claimed that he is pursuing a new opportunity, and this will likely be something big.
