Flynthe – Nocturna / Momentum

Oh don't we love a good Progressive House anthem? Well Flynthe delivers two with 'Nocturna' and 'Momentum'!

It’s all about the Dutch talent at the moment, with the country bringing through so much in terms of dance music. It always has and it always will. Flynthe is just another example of this and his style of Progressive House and the sounds which he brings is just excellent. For his latest instalment, he has arrived on Zerothree Music with the ‘Nocturna / Momentum‘ EP.

Having already released a number of tracks under the ‘Real Prog‘ series which the label runs, and also remixing the likes of Tinlicker, Sem Thomasson and more, Flynthe is back. This will mark his first solo EP on Zerothree Music and by the looks of things, it certainly won’t be his last as this sums up the label and the artist together. With ‘Nocturna’ and ‘Momentum’, Flynthe is set to really boost his reputation as a producer and one who can really make the stand out tracks.

The first track on the EP comes with ‘Nocturna‘ and what a little tune this one is. It kicks off with a heavy beat, one which sets the tone for the rest of the track as the synths begin to merge in with the rest of the track. The melodies shine through and you already have that feeling of a journey, one which is going to be unforgettable and extremely enjoyable. It’s all about the energy as it mounts in the build ups, before the drop comes in, and it hits hard with a deep, gritty bass line. This is one which is sure to get the dance moves going. The breakdown though is where I was completely captured, the atmosphere is electric with the piano melodies coming through to really dominate the track.

And from here, the ‘Momentum‘ does not stop. The second track continues where the first left off. It takes you on a more deeper journey, a darker edge and darker atmosphere surrounds it with the deeper synths that have been used. The track seems to roll along with the melodies coming through over the top of the hard bass line in the backdrop. This doesn’t change in the builds when the synths come through, it still has that feeling and vibe though it does seem to grow out of the track a little as it reaches it’s pinnacle point and from here, the party really starts. The drop brings energy, emotion and that dark vibe. It’s cool, it’s momentous.
