| by | News

For a festival to operate for over 20 years is something special. Currently in this day and age, festivals come and go due to the over-saturation of the market. Nearly ever week of the year, there is a festival which operates now, whether it be Summer or Winter. This year will see ‘20 Years Of Ultra Music Festival‘ and the festival is currently showcasing a series of how it all started.

The first episode of the series has been aptly titled ‘20 Years Of Ultra – The Beginning‘. With this, the festival showcases how the festival started with a showcase of music at the end of the Winter Music Conference, which takes place at the end of March each year in Miami. Through this, Ultra Music Festival started and began a showcase like no other. The first episode talks about the problems which they encountered, the situation with “rave culture” and a lot more.

Adding in their viewpoints and bringing it about in the discussion are a number of famous artists. Josh Wink talks about performing at the festival, as do heavyweights such as Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, John Digweed and Nic Fanciulli. As the trip down memory lane showcases, ’20 Years Of Ultra’ began at Collins Park, Miami Beach and as Tiesto described the first festival, “it was a completely different world than what it is nowadays”. This documentary definitely looks at how dance music really came to light in the United States and how the growth of electronic music, has helped with the growth of festivals and events. Episode 2 of ’20 Years Of Ultra’ has also arrived, looking at ‘Dance Music Arrives‘. Definitely check it out.
