Fehrplay – Prophet

Fehrplay continues to showcase his reputation as a Prince of Progressive House.

| by | Progressive House, Reviews

Fehrplay has been a constant source of Progressive House music. This isn’t any of the old mainstream Progressive House which gets mixed up with Big Room. This is the purest Progressive House and Fehrplay has been a name involved with this sound for many years now. He has seriously impressed with the release of ‘Prophet‘.

Tipped as one of the successors of the King, Eric Prydz, Fehrplay was mentored by the King alongside fellow Progressive House Prince, Jeremy Olander. The two were names associated with Eric for many years, before they both broke off and followed their own thing. For Fehrplay, he has been releasing on a number of quality labels, but he has had an association with Mau5trap. Any release which arrives on this label is huge, and ‘Prophet’ lives up to all of those expectations.

There is something about ‘Prophet’ which draws you in. It is a seven and a half minute masterpiece which takes you on a journey. The track kicks off with a beat to really begin to feel the energy which is contained within. Before long, the synths have arrived and they rivet through the track, dispensing energy and power to the listen. You instantly become addicted and long for more of these sounds, as the track begins to build. A highly infectious build and a powerful drop, this is exactly what you want. The breakdown creates a high level of tension as the tempo slows, the atmosphere builds, and once more, the melodies take over and the energy flows once more. Fehrplay is sure to challenge the King in years to come.
