The main man, the one and only, Eric Prydz is back and he’s back under his Cirez D alias. He brings more treats to the scene in terms of quality music, and we expected nothing less from the Swedish legend. ‘Backlash’ and ‘The Tournament’ are the two tracks to come in from Cirez D and it’s all the Techno goodies we could have asked for, two banging new tracks.

You simply cannot speak out against the quality of the tracks which Eric Prydz brings to the dance music scene, no matter what alias he is working under. Cirez D has really come to frutition over the last few months with the underground sounds coming through on the scene. We’ve already heard the massive ‘In The Reds’ EP and now the follow up to that has arrived. After a bit of teasing and torturing, Cirez D returns with two tracks, coming in as ‘Backlash’ and ‘The Tournament’ on his Mouseville label.

I love it when new Cirez D music arrives, especially these two tracks as they’ve been featuring in a number of Prydz shows and sets. ‘Backlash’ is the first track up on the EP and this is just a monster. The deep bass line rivets through in a melodic way and it completely has the listener hooked right from the start of the track. It seems to provide a sense of intensity, a high level of tension and an addictive nature. The melodies in this one just seem to bounce off the bass line and if your looking a reaction, this track is going to do it, especially with the vast contrast from the break to the drop. It’s a huge new Techno anthem from Cirez D.

Following on from ‘Backlash’ is ‘The Tournament‘ and again, this track provides the goods in the Cirez D way that we know. A deep, growling bas line holds anchor to the track, keeping the track flowing and letting it all progress in the best way possible. This dark nature to the track is just what the underground scene is about, an intimate, intense feeling. As it progresses though, it begins to change a little as the drums head to the forefront of the track more, a little softer but the synths then take centre stage. There is simply no arguing with the quality that Cirez D and Eric Prydz brings to the scene. Mind blowing.
