Chase & Status Bring The Power Of ‘Spoken Word’

Chase & Status release yet another single from their anticipated album as they team up with George The Poet for 'Spoken Word'.

| by | Bass, Reviews

The new Chase & Status album is turning out to be something of a huge nature. With collaborations already released alongside Slaves and Novelist, the next is with George The Poet. This one comes in the form of ‘Spoken Word’ and it brings two major genres together to form something of real beauty and class.

For some of you, you may have heard of ‘Spoken Word’, a cross between poetry and singing, almost rapping like but the topics which are talked about are deep problems, social problems or anything in particular. George The Poet is one of those at the head of the movement, and he has now teamed up with legends Chase & Status to bring Drum N Bass and ‘Spoken Word’ together, in the form of their new track, and what a sound this is.

You can feel that Chase & Status feeling to the track from the start with the soothing synths that kick in and the euphoric vocal which comes in before George The Poet brings the power of ‘Spoken Word’ to the track, as he comes in an spits a few lines, and the blend between the two sounds is exquisite. The drop has Chase & Status smeared all over it with the huge energy banks and hard hitting drums. Brilliant if you ask me. Once more, George The Poet comes back in with a deep bass line flowing in the back drop, before the track begins to build up once more, as the vocals bring the tension and heighten the tension. The energy flows out of the track in the drop, and this is sure to be a track which the crowd and fans of Chase & Status will fully engage with. A big new anthem has arrived before the album is released.
