Calvin Harris is probably one of the biggest names in commercial dance music. His singles and hits have rose up the official charts and topped them, with numerous hits surfacing in the top ten, not to mention the power of his albums. But it looks like Calvin Harris is heading in a new direction, especially after the release of his new single ‘Heatstroke‘.
‘Heatstroke’ is the second single to come from Calvin Harris in just a few weeks. The single follows on from ‘Slide’ which saw him team up with Migos and Frank Ocean, delivering a new sound from the renowned producer. And now ‘Heatstroke’ follows on in a similar sound, something which is sure to be radio ready. Teaming up with Ariana Grande, Pharrell Williams and Young Thug is a pretty big move, but it is simply nothing for a man of Calvin Harris’ stature.
We had been told that plenty of new Calvin Harris music was on the way, but we certainly didn’t expect it to be this quick. The sounds which Calvin has been bringing across are infectious, almost nineties like, with the deep synth work and melodies. The background production is magical and has different elements and layers, with the drums, guitar chords, bass and everything in between. And the way in which the vocals flit between Young Thug’s to Pharrell Williams, and then the beauty of Ariana Grande’s takes over. This is just a quality track coming in from Calvin Harris, just another hit to add to the collection. And we expect plenty more to come over the next few months.
