After hitting the HypeM charts with their Lil Uzi Vert cover of ‘XO Tour Llif3’ earlier this month, the brassy duo from New York release their latest single ‘Fever’ today on noted YouTube imprint TheSoundYouNeed. ‘Fever’ was premiered via OkayPlayer and marks the start of a series of tracks set to be released throughout 2017.

After studying together at Manhattan School of Music, Ivan Jackson and Conor Rayne linked up to form production duo Brasstracks in 2014. Initially a side project allowing them to use their respective instruments to produce electronic music they were passionate about, a cover of Rihanna’s “Four Five Seconds” with Lido cemented them on the SoundCloud producer scene. Brasstracks produced arguably the biggest HipHop record of 2016 with Chance The Rappers ‘No Problem’ feat Lil Wayne and 2Chainz. This led to GRAMMY nominations for Best Rap Song and subsequent GRAMMY wins in the Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance categories.

Reaching this massive pinnacle has done nothing to stop the NY-based pairing from wanting to create more. ‘Fever’ features the pristine brass elements that their fans around the world have grown to adore them for, while also showcasing their deft touch in sound design. The track saw its release today on TheSoundYouNeed, and marks the start of a new series of singles for Brasstracks, who are currently working on their forthcoming album and touring the United States. Having received support from the likes of Fader, XXL, VIBE, Indie Shuffle and being nominated as Band of the week for The Guardian amongst many others, the New York duo have a promising year ahead of them.
