Avicii Posts Heartfelt Message Following Last Show

Avicii has posted a message on his social media to thank fans, and to claim he won't be leaving the music scene entirely.

The last few years for Avicii have been pretty mental. Tim Berg, his proper name, has been touring all over the world, creating and producing some iconic dance music tracks, changing things up and having a pretty huge impact on the dance music scene, but it’s been all too much for the artist who played his last ever shows at the end of August.

A touring schedule like his own, mixed with health problems that made him cancel shows and ultimately make the decision to quit the touring business, took it’s toll. The artist simply could not keep up with what is almost expected of an international DJ now and so he made the decision to step away from the DJ booth and focus solely on his studio work.

This Sunday (28th Aug) was my last show. But far from my last days in the world of music. Creating music is what makes me happy and I have gotten to know so many great people in my days of touring, seen so many amazing places and created endless of good memories. The decision I made might seem odd to some but everyone is different and for me this was the right one. Thank you to all my fans, my friends and family and everyone in the Avicii crew/family. This has been our journey together. – Avicii

His last ever weekend saw him perform at Tennent’s Vital in Belfast, Creamfields and then finishing it all off in Ibiza at his residency at Ushuaia. But as Avicii says in his his heartfelt message, he may be stepping away from the touring and the show business, but he will not be stepping away from creating music. We have already seen him team up with various brands, as well as remaking classic tracks and producing tracks, so it certainly won’t be the last time we hear of Avicii.

We wish him all the best on his new lease of life.
