Making your name on the pirate radio stations and beginning to make it onto the bigger leagues is a dream come true. Alexis Raphael was one of the growing talents in the 90’s and 00’s before coming through in the studio with some huge tracks. Now he has delivered a four track EP ‘Breaking Walls Like 1989‘, with a remix from Caal.

Alexis Raphael has released tracks on the likes of Hot Creations, Moda Black, Leftroom and Relief Records amongst many others. He has a number of breakthrough singles to his name and continues to churn out the infectious Tech House and House style. Now he has arrived for his debut EP release on WOW Recordings with ‘Breaking Walls Like 1989’ and this is an EP which is set to infect the intimate dance floors over the Summer months.

The first track to land on the EP is the title track ‘Breaking Walls Like 1989‘ and it has a real classic House feeling to it. With a bass line which just oozes infectious energy and groove, you feel the rhythm and ultimately feel the track from the off. Adding in a vocal sample to add that extra edge to the track works extremely well, and this is definitely one which will have the intimate clubs dancing away. Solid work from Alexis Raphael.

Loaded Up‘ has a real deep layered synth part to the track with a rather different vocal sample, a contrast to the first track. It brings a whole new edge to the style of Alexis Raphael, but it seems to be a contrasting treat to the EP. The deep nature of the track and the underground elements just bring a mixture of House and Bass together. CAAL changes the track up with a whole new dimension, one which sees the artist add their style to the track. Changing up the melodies, the synths and keeping some of the components of the track, it’s a quality remix.

Rounding off the EP is the final track, ‘Nightflight‘ and this again is a more Dirty House sounding track with womping synths, infectious melodies and deep layered melodies. A track which contains plenty of energy, this is another one which will send the dance floors wild. This is a quality new EP from Alexis Raphael, he is really building a reputation for himself.
