Mixmash Records has become a go-to place for talented producers and DJs to deliver their demos. The label has saw a huge ‘Rise‘ over the last thirteen years. From a label which was started by Laidback Luke and his manager, it has grown into something of a family, the MixmashFam. Which has led to the first ever album from all of the labels artists.

So many talents have become part of the MixmashFam, many of these guys very young yet so talented. Featuring in the ‘MixmashFam Presents – Rise‘ album are the talented Mark Villa, Keanu Silva, Krosses, Inpetto, Unity, Pryodox and the one and only, Laidback Luke. The documentary gives you an insight as to how the MixmashFam has grown in the last few years, how it all started and an insight from the family itself. The album ‘Rise’ contains seven tracks which cover a number of different genres.

Rise‘ is a production coming in from Laidback Luke and rising Dutch star Mark Villa. The two have come together to release the title track for the album and it has those Future House sounds, linking in with the Big Room vibes. It’s a sweet little vibe, plenty of energy contained and is sure to really ramp up the crowd in the club. ‘Rude Trumpet‘ comes in from Keanu Silva and Krosses, and this is one which goes down a treat. The trumpet sound adds a whole new edge to the track, while the drop goes in with plenty of energy. Highly energetic and infectious.

Unity and Pyrodox have come together to release ‘Good On Me‘ and this one oozes the Future Bass sounds. Featuring vocals from The Baron, this is a track which has a real sketchy nature to it, one which cuts in and out in the drop, before it breaks down to add something airy and very atmospheric. Laidback Luke appears on the ‘MixmashFam Presents – Rise’ album for the second time with a collaboration alongside Keanu Silva. They have released ‘It Was Me‘ which features something cracking sounds. With the piano melodies and the sketchy vocal flitting over the top, it all leads to a very big drop, which really hits home. Brilliant track.

Inpetto and Pyrodox bring the Bass House sounds with ‘Islands In The Sky‘, as they drop a sketchy, electronic and rather bass-y vibe. It has a huge contrast between the builds and the drop, as well as the breakdown as well. Unity steps up to remix ‘Rude Trumpet‘ for the sixth track and it’s one of those moments where you just have to listen to the track. The last release comes in from Inpetto and Keanu Silva as they release ‘Pizzie Ride‘ and the piano sounds in this one are just fantastic. You will thrive off the energy and the feel good nature which surrounds this, mixing the Bass House regions with Future House. The MixmashFam are on the ‘Rise’ and they are set to really thrive over the next few years.
