A hot new record from Aeroplane and Purple Disco Machine as they deliver ‘Sambal’.
When I heard this track played out on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio One show, I needed to know exactly what it was. Impossible to find, I stumbled across the track a few days later and discovered it was the brand new Aeroplane and Purple Disco Machine track ‘Sambal’ and in all honesty, it has not stopped playing since the teaser was released.
Purple Disco Machine has been behind some of the top Deep House / House tracks out there, delivering them on labels such as Defected Records. The last few years for Aeroplane have also been high flying as the Nu-Disco and Balearic House producer continues to impress many, as his reputation grows. To see the two of them enter the studio and produce a track such as ‘Sambal’, it’s a match which needed to happen and a match which needs to happen once more.
You can hear the influences of both Purple Disco Machine and Aeroplane on the Spinnin’ Deep release, with both coming to the forefront of the track at certain points. The deep percussion which flows through the track in the form of the catchy melodies are just absolutely stunning, before the piano melodies kick in to reiterate the point. These two elements combined, with a touch of a solid bass line in the background of the track, are the key to this being such a success, as both elements fuse together beautifully to fill out the track. They contrast, yet fit so well and the infectious energy which comes out of this is surreal. A slow tempo, one to get the party stoked and the night ahead looking good, ‘Sambal’ is a hot new tune on the scene.
